Undergraduate study can cost about NZ$18,000–$25,000 a year,depending on your course.

Post graduate It can cost about NZ$20,000to $40,000 a yearfor postgraduate courses. Your fees cover:
  • Government Service Tax (GST)
  • registration and enrolment
  • student health and counselling
  • language support
  • use of most campus facilities.
Advance payments

You’ll need to pay fees in advance because proof of paymentis required to get a student visa or permit. There is usually an application oradministration fee, even if your application isn’t successful.

Methods of payment

You can pay your fees
  • through the institution's agent in your country
  • by credit card – you give your credit cardnumber on your application form but payment is not processed until yourenrolment is confirmed
  • by funds transfer from your bank into theinstitution's bank account in NewZealand
  • by bank draft or bank cheque in NZ$, posted tothe institution.
Cancellation andrefunds

If you cancel before the course starts, most or all of yourfees will be refunded. This may apply if your visa is not granted or you aretransferring to another institution. If you cancel in the first week or so ofthe course, only part of your fee will be refunded. Beyond the first week ortwo, you probably won't get any refund.
